People First is more than a catchphrase for me. It is the DNA that defines me both in and out of work. People are the reason our products exist. They are the ultimate judge, jury and verdict of our work.
The images below are examples of journey maps, interactive user conferences, design sessions, research, support, sales and more. The craft of a product manager is to take all of the various perspectives, personalities, priorities and make hard decisions about how to map the journey ahead.
The greatest skill any product manager can posses is communication. The ability to use communication to make users feel trusted and safe to share their experiences. The ability to translate for engineering and others the impact we have on the people we serve. And of course you can't forget the ability to gracefully say no and work with professionals from every level of business from the C-Suite down to the lowest paid employee you serve.
That is Product Management.
